Lakeville Man Gets Three Years In Prison For Child Porn

A 47-year-old Lakeville man has been sentenced to three years in prison for child porn.

Gaston Antoine Landry pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an investigation into images of child sexual abuse.

This was following following information received from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.

The RCMP investigation began in July 2019.

In December, the same year, officers searched a home in Lakeville, followed by a search of a transport truck in Candiac, Quebec.

Several electronic devices were seized.

Landry was arrested in January of 2020 and faced numerous charges including possession and accessing child pornography.

His name has now been added to the National Sex Offender registry.

When he is released from prison, he will have to abide by several conditions including not being around children.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.

The RCMP’s Digital Forensic Services Unit, the RCMP Southeast District, the Sûreté du Quebec and the RCMP National Child Exploitation Crime Centre were also involved in this investigation.
