The last living survivor of the 1958 Springhill Mine disaster has passed away.
Age the age of 26, Harold Brine was one of 174 men working in the number 2 mine, North America’s deepest.
It was jolted by a seismic shock wave that killed 75 miners.
He was trapped for six days near the bottom before being one of 12 rescued, 7 more were rescued two days later.
Brine lived in Geary, New Brunswick and was 91 years old.
