Students head back to class on Tuesday, so there’s only one weekend left to go to get things in order.
Director of Schools at Anglophone East Pamela Wilson suggests that parents take some time to talk to their kids about what they might expect for the upcoming year, “Especially if they are transitioning from home to Kindergarten or from elementary to middle school, or middle school to high school. Talking about these changes will certainly help. If you are looking for ways to help academically, reading to students, especially the earlier years, will certainly help to prepare them.”
If your child is starting Kindergarten, “Have a positive outlook of exciting things for them to expect, is beneficial, because they may be nervous going off to school for the very first time, ” Wilson notes.
Wilson adds, that mom and dad should probably take along a tissue or two, because sometimes it is harder on the parents than the child, when they see them off to Kindergarten.
