Lily Lake closed to swimming due to bacteria

Lily Lake in Saint John’s Rockwood Park is off-limits to swimming until further notice.

Recent testing by Public Health found high levels of E. coli bacteria, the city said Thursday.

“Warning signs have been posted and lifeguard services will remain in place at Lily Lake to advise the public and ensure the safety of visitors,” said a news release from the city.

Officials said the swimming area will remain closed until deemed safe by health officials.
