‘Link’ Finds A New Home: NBSPCA

The dog at the centre of an investigation into alleged animal neglect in northern New Brunswick has found a new home.

The New Brunswick SPCA posted an update about Link to its Facebook page on Monday afternoon.

“Link has found a new home thanks to the Bathurst SPCA,” said the update, which also thanked people for helping to spread the word.

In June, animal protection officers responding to a report of a neglected dog in a rural area north of Miramichi found a dog chained in a backyard with the chain embedded in his neck.

The dog, according to the New Brunswick SPCA, was also dirty, very thin, and missing fur.

“The owners surrendered the dog to the NBSPCA and he was taken for immediate emergency veterinary care, where he underwent surgery to remove the chain and received treatment for other medical concerns,” said a previous post on the organization’s Facebook page.

Link had been recovering at the Bathurst SPCA ever since then.

No other details about their investigation into the alleged animal abuse have been released.
