Local Clothing Drive Aims To Spread Warmth To Those In Need

The unfortunate reality is that not everyone in the Greater Saint John area has the means to just “bundle up” when the temperature outside plummets – but those involved in a local clothing drive are hoping to help with that.

Jessica LeBlanc is the founder of a project called Let’s Colour the City With Warmth where community members gather warm clothing to be distributed to those in need, and says her mother also signed on to be her project partner.

The deadline to drop off warm clothing was Wednesday but has now been extended to Thursday.

The kick-off is on Friday when they plan on decorating King’s Square with the items in a clear bag with colourful ribbons. LeBlanc says afterwards the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force will be distributing the items to people in need.
