Local Hotel Association Prez Likes The Proposed Taxi Bylaw

Taxi drivers, operators and some common councillors have strong and differing views on a proposed taxi bylaw that would meters added and higher standards for the condition of the vehicle.

Paulette Hicks of the Saint John Hotel Association tells us he likes the proposal adding she thinks it has elements that work from a visitor’s perspective.

She tells us she thinks its a very progressive approach for Saint John to develop the appropriate bylaws that have standards around that experience.

Hicks points out its important as getting into a taxi can be the first impression of our city for someone getting off a cruise ship or stepping off a plane.
