Long Time Member Of City’s Sporting Fraternity Passes Away

Former Common Councillor and longtime baseball coach Vic Fitzgerald died this week at the age of 70. He had been suffering from bladder cancer.

Fitzgerald worked in the city’s Recreation Department for 35 years before retiring in 2001 and then served one term on Council. He was also director of the Somerset Community Centre and also was involved with the North End Food Bank.

Funeral arrangements are being finalised.
