Major Crime Investigating Home Invasion On Metcalf Street

Major Crime is investigating a home invasion on Metcalf Street in the city’s North end.

Saint John police Sergeant Lori Magee says police met the caller at a nearby convenience store. He told police he heard a knock at the door and after opening it saw five men standing there.

Police were told one of them showed him a weapon and he was assaulted by them, getting pushed and kicked, but didn’t sustain any injuries that needed medical help.

In a different incident, police and fire were called out to the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club in Millidgeville after someone launching their boat found a vehicle under the water.

In the early morning hours, a driver didn’t negotiate a turn and mistakenly drove right into the water. Nobody was hurt though the driver and passenger did leave the scene.

They returned while police were on scene and we were told this morning a charge under the Motor Vehicle Act was pending.
