Major New Development Before Common Council

The proposed multi-million dollar shopping, commercial and residential development called “The Crossing” will be reviewed by the city’s Planning Advisory Committee which will make a non binding recommendation to Common Council.

The proposal comes before Common Council tonight with a public hear to be scheduled in April.

The owners of Lancaster Mall on the west side, McAllister Place and Wal Mart have come out against the proposed development with concerns over flooding and whether the proposal is contrary to the city’s new municipal plan.

Horizon Management has submitted a Municipal Plan Amendment and Rezoning application for two areas of land, one located along Ashburn Road and the other north east of the One Mile Interchange.
