A massive political earthquake hit Quebec last night with the Coalition Avenir Quebec or CAQ winning a majority government ousting the Liberals after 15 years of being in power.
The election saw the rise as well of the Quebec Solidaire Party with 10 seats.
The Parti Quebecois, a pro-independence party was dealt a major blow with just 9 seats, in fact, its leader resigned after losing his own seat and it lost official party status.
The Quebec National Assembly will now have 74 CAQ, 32 Liberals, 10 QS and 9 PQ, 50 of those seats will be filled by women.
