It’s grad week in Southern New Brunswick with ceremonies being held from Hampton to Campobello.
Anglophone South Superintendent Zoe Watson says it’s a busy time and a worrisome time for our school principals and our teachers.
“We know that it’s a time of celebration, a time of parties. We are also concerned for our students. We hopes they make the very best decisions about their partying and their activities.” Watson said.
In addition to all the graduation festivities, June is a very busy for all schools with all kinds of special celebrations, retirements track and field meets and planning for next year in staffing teachers, educational assistants and holding competitions for vice-principals and principal roles.

“Looking at enrolments for next year, planning summer learning. The district is offering a lot of summer professional development. Although the students leave us at the end of the day on the 21st, lots of things are happening during the summer months.” Watson said.
Watson said education is quite unique in that we have all of these special activites but, at the same time in the background a lot of planning for next year.
