Man Accused Of Following Girl Into Home Appears In Court

A man accused of following a young girl into her Rothesay home has been sent for a fitness assessment.

Henry Allan Day appeared in court Monday for a bail hearing on three charges, including criminal harassment, break and enter, and breach of probation.

Details of the hearing are under a publication ban, but the judge ordered Day to complete a 30-day fitness assessment.

Police said they received a call about an underwear-clad man riding a bicycle and acting strangely near a playground on June 23.

The Kennebecasis Regional Police Force said the man tried to talk to a nine-year-old girl and followed her into her home when she ran away.

Police said the girl’s father chased the man out of the home and detained him until officers arrived.

Day is scheduled to return to Saint John provincial court on Aug. 17.
