Man arrested after colliding with plow truck

A 19-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving after allegedly hitting a plow truck in Saint John.

Police said they were called to a collision at Coburg and Carleton streets at around 7:45 p.m. Monday.

The vehicle, which was reported to be driving erratically, allegedly fled the scene and nearly hit a responding police car.

“The suspect vehicle was eventually blocked in by a loader clearing snow in the area of Tin Can Beach,” police said in a news release.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

He was later released on an undertaking to appear in court in April.
