Man arrested for September robbery in Saint John: police

Saint John police say a man wanted in an alleged robbery last fall has been arrested in Moncton.

Police said a woman confronted a man leaving a security-locked building on Prince Edward Street on Sept. 26.

“The woman took a photo of the man using her cell phone to alert her landlord. The suspect then assaulted the woman and stole her phone,” police said in a news release at the time.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening physical injuries and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

In an update on Monday, police said the accused was arrested by Codiac RCMP in Moncton last Wednesday and remains in custody.
