Man arrested in Hampton firearm incident

A Hampton man has been arrested for allegedly pointing a firearm at another person.

Mounties said they were called to a home on Saint Pauls Street in Hampton last Thursday.

“Police attended the location and located the suspect a short time later,” RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody and later released with a court date in May.

Police said officers also seized a loaded and unsecured .22 caliber rifle allegedly used during the incident.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is continuing.
