Man arrested in homicide pleads guilty to drug-related charges

A 30-year-old man arrested in connection with a homicide investigation has pleaded guilty.

Cole McFadden appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on April 22 and pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking meth.

He was sentenced to seven years in prison and also received a lifetime firearms ban.

An investigation began in December 2021 after a man’s body was discovered inside a home in Petit-Cap.

McFadden was arrested in January 2022 outside a business on High Street in Moncton.

After the arrest, police searched a home on Chemin Poucette in Saint-Andre-Leblanc.

During the search, police seized significant amounts of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. They also seized two firearms and drug trafficking paraphernalia, including three digital scales and a money-counting machine.
