Man Charged After Shots Fired At Officers: RCMP

Police say a 61-year-old man is facing charges after shots were fired at officers near the village of Chipman.

Mounties say they got a call of an armed person uttering threats at a home on Main Street in Chipman shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, but the suspect left before officers arrived.

Police then went to a home in nearby Bronson Settlement, where they say a firearm was discharged toward officers from inside the house. No one was hurt, said the RCMP.

Officers contained the area and made contact with a person inside the home, who was arrested shortly after without incident.

Keith Day of Bronson Settlement is charged with discharging a firearm with intent. He is due back in court Thursday.
