Man Charged In Fredericton Shooting

Fredericton police say a 29-year-old man is facing charges after a double shooting in the city this week.

Officers were called to reports of a shooting on Canada Street in the Marysville area over the noon hour Tuesday.

Police said two men had been shot and were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators identified a suspect and took them into custody without incident about 45 minutes later.

Skylar Michaud is charged with aggravated assault, breach of a firearms prohibition order and breach of probation.

Michaud is due back in court on Monday and police said more charges are expected.

Investigators said they do not believe the shooting was random.
