Saint John police say a 25-year-old man is facing charges after an incident on the east side earlier this week.
Police said a patrol officer tried to stop a vehicle driving erratically on McAllister Drive around 1 p.m. Monday.
“The driver failed to stop for police. Due to heavy traffic and the safety of the public, the officer stopped pursuing the vehicle,” police said in a news release Wednesday.
According to police, the driver continued to drive erratically into a construction zone and collided with a construction vehicle at the intersection of McAllister Drive and Westmorland Road.
The driver fled on foot but was taken into custody by police nearby, they said.
Colby Moore appeared in court Tuesday to face charges of dangerous driving, flight from police, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.
Moore remains in custody and has another court date set for Sept. 28.
If you were in the area and have dashcam or video surveillance of the incident, police are asking you to contact them.
