Man dies in ATV crash near Canterbury

A 40-year-old man from Douglas has died from an ATV crash in Scott Siding near Canterbury.

Police say the crash happened on a trail off Scott Siding Road, around 12:55 a.m. on Monday.

RCMP reported that he wasn’t wearing a helmet, was driving an unregistered ATV off an approved trail, and that speed may have played a role in the crash.

Mounties also added that a 12-year-old passenger was also on the ATV but wasn’t physically hurt.

The RCMP are continuing their investigation and is reminding riders to follow safety guidelines.
