Man In Hospital After Uptown Assault

Police say an assault in uptown Saint John has left a man in hospital in serious condition.

Officers were called to an area near King’s Square just before 8 p.m. Sunday, said the force in a news release Monday.

Police said a 56-year-old man was found unconscious and suffering from head trauma.

“A 25-year-old man is in custody as the Major Crime Unit continues its investigation,” said the release.

Anyone who may have been in the area of King’s Square at the time is asked to call the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333.
