Man seriously hurt in Saint John stabbing: police

Police say a man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Saint John.

Officers were called to the Loyalist Burial Ground on Sydney Street around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday.

They found a 62-year-old man who had been seriously hurt in the Waterloo Street area.

“He was transported to the hospital to be treated for what is believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” police said in a Friday news release.

No arrests have been made and police believe this was an isolated incident.

The force’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area who has video surveillance of the incident
