A 30 year old man was wounded in the north end.
Police received a call shortly after 1:00 about gunshots being fired.
They say the victim, who was found in the area of Wright Street, will recover after undergoing treatment at the Regional Hospital.
Major Crime will investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
