Man struck in St. George hit-and-run: RCMP

Mounties are investigating an apparent hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in St. George over the weekend.

Police say a man was found lying on the shoulder of Route 1 eastbound on the Magaguadavic overpass around 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe the man, who was found by a patrolling Conservation officer, had been struck by a speeding vehicle about an hour earlier.

The 45-year-old was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are working to identify a suspect vehicle, which is believed to have apparent passenger-side damage.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who was travelling in the area and witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage, or has information that could help with the investigation.
