Saint John police say a man is facing charges following a weekend robbery at an uptown business.

Police were called to Giant Tiger in Prince Edward Square Mall around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Spokesperson Jim Hennessy said a man pushed a clerk away from the register, grabbed some cash and ran away.

Hennessy said the man, who is on parole, turned himself in to police a short time later.

The suspect is facing charges of robbery and being unlawfully at large.
