MGAP To Find Forever Home For 1000th Greyhound!

A huge milestone will be reached for the Maritime Greyhound Adoption Program this weekend.

They will bring they 1000th dog to Canada.

Founder and President of MGAP Deb Levasseur says their organization started out around 13 years ago, rescuing just 5 or 6 dogs..but that number has grown because of the high demand to adopt them, “They are so different in so many ways than other dogs, and they are a really smart dog, that seems to be very grateful for everything we do. They are also a very affectionate, people type dog. They are quite different, as far as dogs go. They are very calm, very gentle dogs that are really great in the house. A lot of people refer to them as big gentle cats. They don’t require a lot of exercise and they don’t shed a lot.”

The 1000th dog is coming from Daytona, Florida and will arrive on Sunday, along with nine other dogs. Levasseur says there is still a need to find homes for eight of the dogs.
