Mid-week system could bring heavy rain

We could be in for more heavy rain as the week goes on.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on Sunday evening.

The agency says a system over the Great Lakes will move into the Maritimes and bring rain at times heavy with it.

“At this time there is high uncertainty among weather guidance concerning the rainfall amounts and where the heaviest rain may fall,” said the statement.

“While it is too soon to provide specific details, the potential exists for rainfall totals possibly reaching or exceeding 50 mm Tuesday night through Wednesday night for some locations.”

A clearer picture is expected once the system moves closer to the region.
