Those who are expecting in the Fredericton region can now access registered midwives, as they have started accepted clients.
In December of last year it was announced by the department of Health that Fredericton had been chosen as a demonstration site for introducing midwives into the health care system.
The registered midwives in New Brunswick are regulated by the Midwifery Council and the demonstration site is managed by the Horizon Health Network.
