Mischief investigation at Loyalist Burial Ground

Saint John police are investigating a case of mischief at the Loyalist Burial Ground.

In a news release, police said officers were called to the area around 11 a.m. Thursday.

“Graffiti was discovered on the concrete wall and adjacent to the pond, along with multiple handprints and green paint stains on the fountain,” said the release.

The damage is believed to have occurred sometime overnight, according to investigators.

Police said they have seen an increase in this type of mischief over the past number of weeks.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video surveillance is asked to report it.
