Mock emergency drill planned near St. Stephen

A mock emergency exercise is planned northwest of St. Stephen.

Emera New Brunswick and NB Power said that the drill will take place on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Route 127 near Waweig.

The exercise is designed to test emergency response plans and communication between agencies in a simulated scenario.

Emera New Brunswick, which owns and operates the Brunswick Pipeline, said the St. Stephen Fire Department, the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization and other stakeholders will also take part.

The companies said residents may notice emergency vehicles and increased activity in the area, but they do not expect any traffic disruptions or impacts on homes or businesses.
