Mock Emergency Exercise In Saint John

Expect to see emergency response vehicles in the Sandy Point Road area of Saint John on Thursday.

Emera New Brunswick, which owns and operates Brunswick Pipeline, and NB Power are holding a mock emergency exercise near Peacock’s Lane.

Also taking part are members of the Saint John Fire Department and Saint John EMO, among others.

“During this exercise, we will work closely with a broad group of stakeholders to test emergency response plans and interagency communications practices in a simulated emergency scenario,” said a news release from Emera.

“Training exercises provide emergency responders and industrial stakeholders an opportunity to work together and refine the tactical elements of emergency response plans.

Emera New Brunswick said the exercise is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Residents may notice emergency response vehicles during that time, but traffic disruptions are not expected.
