In the NFL playoffs, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw a last-second, 42-yard touchdown pass to receiver Randall Cobb to give Green Bay a 14-6 halftime lead en route to a 38-13 win over the New York Giants…….Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appeared in a walking boot on his right foot after a 30-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins in the A-F-C wildcard but vows he will be playing against Kansas City next weekend.

The Saint John Sea Dogs rebounded from Saturday’s loss in Halifax to edge the Mooseheads at Harbour Station, 2-1. Goalie Callum Booth got his first win as a Sea Dog. Sam Dove-McFalls and Bokondji Imama scored for Saint John.

In the NHL, 19 year old Sebastian Aho scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give Carolina a 4-3 win over Boston…..Pittsburgh, in its first game since New Year’s Eve, beat Tampa Bay 6-2….Elsewhere, it was Chicago 5 Nashville 2 with Ryan Hartman scoring three goals….Ottawa 5 Edmonton 3…..Columbus 2 Philadelphia 1 in overtime and Minnesota 2 Anaheim 1.

Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher is expected to miss at least eight weeks after having surgery to repair a fractured left hand.

In the NBA, the Toronto Raptors lost to Houston 129-122 with James Harden of the Rockets scoring 40 points along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
