NFL Players kneeled and locked arms to show solidarity in opposition to President Donald Trump because of what he said at a campaign rally in Alabama when he slammed players for kneeling during the national anthem. Some teams waited until after the national anthem played before they came out onto the field.

Tom Brady threw a 25 yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left, his fifth of the game and the New England Patriots rallied to defeat the Houston Texans 36-33……Alex Smith threw two touchdown passes and Kansas City remained unbeaten at 3 and 0 with a 24-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers….. Atlanta improved to 3 and 0 with a 30-26 win over previously unbeaten Detroit……Pittsburgh lost its first game of the season, 23-17 to Chicago in overtime…….Last night, it was Washington over Oakland 27-10 as Kirk Cousins threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns while Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was sacked four times. The U-N-B Saint John Seawolves lost to Holland College in football, 49-0.

In the Majors, Mookie Betts doubled with the bases loaded to tie it in the eighth inning and then came home from second base on an infield single as the Boston Red Sox moved closer to winning the American League East with a 5-4 win over Cincinnati……Jose Bautista had two hits and a walk in what likely was his final home game with the Toronto Blue Jays who beat the New York Yankees 9-5. The Harbour View High field hockey team remains undefeated after winning over Saint John High, Bernice McNaughton, Riverview and Harrison Trimble in the K-V tournament.

Harbour View High girls softball team downed Rothesay High 15-5.
