Money Taken From Mosque During Break-In: Police

Saint John police are looking for help to solve a break-in and theft from a local Muslim mosque.

The incident happened at the Mosque of IRCC on Somerset Street on Friday, Jan. 27.

In a news release, police said “entry was forced” into the building sometime between 5 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

“A donation bin containing a quantity of currency was stolen from the building,” police said in Wednesday’s news release.

The Major Crime Unit is currently investigating the break-in and theft.
