More Roads Reopen After Flooding

More roads continue to reopen across the province after this spring’s flooding.

Route 105 through Maugerville, Sheffield, McGowans Corner and Jemseg reopened late Thursday afternoon.

The twin bridges on Route 690 in Lakeville Corner also reopened to traffic.

That is good news for people who travel between Minto and Oromocto, who were forced to take a detour through Fredericton.

Both roads were closed on April 20 as floodwaters continued to rise.

Water levels have since dropped below flood stage along the entire Saint John River basin, but about a dozen roads remain closed as of Friday morning.
