More Than 100 Tickets Issued During Parking Ban

Dozens of Saint John residents woke up to find a ticket on their vehicle Wednesday morning.

The city said 111 tickets were issued as part of Tuesday night’s parking ban in the north, east and west areas of the city.

Spokesperson Lisa Caissie said 26 vehicles were also towed for impeding snow clearing operations.

“We remind motorists that it is their responsibility to stay informed and move their vehicles off the street when overnight parking bans are called,” Caissie said in an email.

Caissie noted that parking bans are communicated on the city’s website, its Facebook and Twitter accounts, through local media, and on its automated winter parking ban phone line at 506-658-4040.

Motorists in the north, east and west areas of the city must make their own arrangements for off-street parking when a ban is called.
