More Than 86,000 Voters On May 10th

If you voted in the municipal election, you may be eager to hear the results.

You’ll have to hang tight for another couple of weeks.

This is because Elections NB was forced to postpone voting in the Edmundston-Madawaska region due to pandemic-related lockdowns last month.

Meanwhile, more than 86,000 New Brunswickers cast a ballot on May 10th.

That’s in addition to the more than 57,000 who took advantage of advance polls.

Paul Harpelle with Elections New Brunswick says turnout appears to be down from the last election, but a final number won’t be known for two more weeks.

There are still 20,000 voters in the Edmundston-Madawaska region yet to cast their ballots.

Advanced polls will be will held on May 15 and 17th in those areas, and election day is May 25th.

Results from across the province will be released once the polls close at 8 p.m. that night.

We will have all of the results to release to you once they are revealed.
