N.B. health authorities welcome New Year’s babies

New Brunswick’s two regional health authorities have welcomed their New Year’s babies.

Horizon Health welcomed its first baby less than an hour after the new year began.

Atlas was born at 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 1 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

The health authority did not release any other details about the baby boy or his parents.

Atlans was not only the first baby born at a Horizon Health facility but also the first in the province.

It took another 21 hours for the first baby of the year within the Vitalité Health Network to arrive.

Jacob Roussel was born at 9:48 p.m. at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

His parents, Sylvie Leger and Philippe Roussel, are residents of Grand-Barachois.
