N.B. Radio Host Remains Detained In Puerto Rico

A longtime Fredericton radio host accused of trying to entice a minor remains detained in Puerto Rico.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Juan says Trevor Doyle, 44, appeared in a detention hearing on Monday.

Spokesperson Nedy Carrillo said he has been detained at the metropolitan detention centre in Guaynado pending trial.

Carrillo says no further hearing dates have been scheduled at this point.

Doyle was arrested by the FBI on April 3 and charged with attempted sexual enticement of a minor.

A conviction on the charge carries a sentence of between 10 years and life in prison.

Doyle is no longer listed on the 106.9 Capital FM website, where he has been the morning show host for nearly 20 years.
