N.B. RCMP Becoming More Transparent Online

New Brunswick RCMP are making an effort to be proactive about releasing more information to the public.

Detachments across the province are now publishing daily occurrences and crime statistics online.

Codiac RCMP Superintendent Tom Critchlow says new pages were recently added to their website.

“We are now publicly publishing a monthly crime statistic dashboard and daily occurrences report for the calls for service, which will be on the RCMP website,” notes Critchlow.

“We want to continually share the information about what we do… being accountable to the priorities that we set with our communities.”

The dashboard contains various details about police calls including crimes against people, property crimes, drug offences and traffic offences.

The daily occurrences report provides a snapshot of major events recorded in a 24-hour period.
