New Brunswick saw an increase in tourism this past summer compared to 2018, according to numbers from the province.
There was an eight per cent increase in overall attendance at provincial attractions between June and August.
Kings Landing and the New Brunswick Museum saw an 18 per cent increase in visitors, while visits to Hopewell Rocks were up by six per cent.
Other attractions which reported increases over the same period include:
- New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Centre: up 21 per cent
- New Brunswick Botanical Garden: up 17 per cent
- Roosevelt Campobello International Park: up 11 per cent
- Village historique acadien: up eight per cent
There was also a six per cent increase in campsite rentals at provincial parks during the same time period.

“I am thrilled more visitors are choosing New Brunswick as a prime destination for their summer vacation,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Robert Gauvin in a news release.
“Our government is focused on strengthening our position as a tourism destination and creating positive experiences for tourists.”
Over the next year, the province said it will refocus its tourism strategy and will work on increasing the capacity of the industry through product innovation and marketing programs.
“We believe that engaging New Brunswickers, making them part of our strategy to promote the province, and encouraging them to explore their home province from a vacation perspective will be key to our success,” Gauvin said.
