Nash Creek Man Charged With Second-Degree Murder

Second-degree murder charges have been laid in connection with the death of a 39-year-old Belledune man.

On November 7th, 39-year-old Nathan Meade of Nash Creek appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court to be charged.

Chaleur Region RCMP went to a home on Highway 134 in Nash Creek on November 6, where they approached a man, who advised officers he had just shot someone.

Thirty-nine-year-old Scott Devereaux was found deceased behind a shed on the property.

Meade remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court on November 21 at 9:30 a.m.

Police are interested in speaking to anyone who lives in the area of Highway 134 in Nash Creek and may have video surveillance footage, or who was travelling through the area between 10 and 10:35 a.m. on November 6, and may have witnessed anything suspicious.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267). Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
