National Lineworker Appreciation Day

Today is a great day to say “thank you” to a local lineworker in your community.

July 10 marks National Lineworker Appreciation Day across Canada.

The day of recognition was established in 2019 by the Canadian Electricity Association.

It is meant to raise awareness of the dangers lineworkers face on a daily basis.

Lineworkers have been repeatedly ranked as having one of the 10 riskiest jobs in Canada.

July 10 is the anniversary of the death of lineworker Henry Miller, who died on the job from electrocution.

Miller was the founding president of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
