NB EMO Director Urges Everyone To Be Kind To Each Other During This Flood

The NB EMO Director says patience is something we all need when dealing with a crisis like a major flood.

Greg MacCallum says everyone is stressed out, but do not take that frustration out on those who are trying to help you or others, especially those who are patrolling barricaded roads.

“They are there because, they are helping the public to stay safe, and challenging their authority or abusing them verbally just increases everyone’s stress level there is no benefit to doing that, stated MacCallum.

Driving around or moving a barricade will also result in a fine by most police departments.

MacCallum had this advice for those who may be getting road rage when snarled in traffic.

“Blowing horns doesn’t make things move any faster, the person you are honking at may have just evacuated from their home and may not know where they are going to spend the night or they are on the way to an alternate location so be mindful of the stresses that are on other people not just yourself.”
