NB Power is lowering the price of having your home evaluated for energy efficiency if you heat it with electricity.
It now costs $99 plus HST instead of over $200.
NB Power’s executive director of energy efficiency Michel Losier says an energy evaluator will pinpoint where the leaks are and then the homeowner has five months to make the improvements.
He tells us it’s estimated homeowners can save from $700 to $1000 a year if they make the recommended changes. NB Power estimates, on average, they’re receiving $1800 back in incentives.
NB Power’s Diane Spencer lives in Grand Bay-Westfield and she had her home evaluated.
“I had determined that I wanted to increase my insulation in my attic so I had that done, and I had spent $1800 and I ended up getting $600 in incentives back from NB Power.”
