A former journalist turned author has just released her third book and it has a Saint John connection.
Laverne Stewart’s book is called Haunted Heart and it’s about a Boston woman coming back to an old mansion and encountering a ghost who is a past love of an ancestor.
“The inspiration for it came from a large home in the north end of Saint John, where I lived for five years while I was living there and working in television,” says Stewart. “I would call it a paranormal romance with historical and modern characters.”
The book is now on sale after its global release earlier this year and Stewart, who now lives in Harvey, N.B., says she’s received some great reviews so far.
“Funny, a little spooky, a little naughty at times because it’s a bit of a romance,” she says. “They’re loving it, so I’m really pleased with the reactions so far.”
Stewart wrote two non-fiction books before this one and is already penning a new fiction work that she hopes to have published by next March.
