New Brunswick Deer Population On The Rebound

The deer population in the province is growing according to a New Brunswick Deer Biologist.

Joe Kennedy says there has been a general increase over the last few years.

“The winters of 2014, and 2015 were very harsh, had really decimated deer numbers, and we’ve been seeing the growth since then with the deer population rebounding,” says Kennedy. “So we’re simply starting to see more deer around the province.”

Kennedy says it’s not uncommon to see large herds of deer at this time of year, because they are coming out to feed after a long winter.

He is cautioning motorists to keep an eye out for the deer especially in the mornings and evenings.
