New Parking Restrictions In Effect In South End

Starting today, there’s no more free parking in the southern peninsula with an updated parking bylaw aimed at ensuring people who live there can get on street parking near their own homes.

Cars parked on the street from Duke Street in the north to Broadview Avenue in the south and from Sydney Street in the west to Crown Street in the east will need residential zone parking permits at a cost of 48 dollars a year.

The Saint John Parking Commission believes the updated parking bylaw will lead to more revenue for the Commission and the city.
