The provincial government has launched a new program designed to keep seniors at home longer and more independent.
Tina Learmonth of Bayshore Home Health says the programme is personalised for what the individual senior needs and wants. A reviewer will come to your home and have a conversation with you to find out what you need and what you want to make your life better and more enjoyable.
Learmonth says many seniors are not aware of the programmes and services that are available in their communities that can help them out. This programme will help them navigate the system.
There’s also a $15 hundred grant available for eligible seniors that can be used for minor in home repairs and additions to improve mobility and independence.
